Mill Village Memories This article describes the life of Mill Village in the 1900s as illustrated by Donald Russell. Russell's family had moved from Ferrisburgh town to Mill Village, which was located north of the Rutland City/Rutland town line. The town was characterized by the surrounding shops, which included a wheel work shop, black smith shops, and Russell's grandfather's shop called Glenn Mills. Russell describes where he would play outside, and includes some sad stories about kids being sent off to World War I, never to return home. Russell also reflects on the effects of changing technology as he became older.
